Lime Applications: We use pelletized lime because it's the best possible application method, and it gets to work faster than other forms.

Core Aeration: Why Aerate? Compacted soil and heavy thatch are the two biggest obstacles to a beautiful lawn. They tend to suffocate grass plants by preventing air, water and nutrients from reaching the root zone. This means your lawn looks less than satisfactory in spite of adequate fertilization, water and tender loving care! Aeration opens up the thatch and helps relieve compaction. It should be a regular part of your annual lawn maintenance program. Aeration is accomplished by the use of a machine equipped with cylinder-like spoons designed to penetrate and shatter the soil. Half-inch diameter plugs of thatch and soil are actually pulled from the ground during this process. The plunging action of the spoons into the ground opens up the soil - allowing the grass plants to breath and promoting deeper, healthier roots.

Major benefits of aeration.

  • Increases air, water and nutrient movement to the root zone.
  • Intensifies decomposition of thatch
  • Helps relieve soil compaction
  • Stimulates new growth
  • Improves drainage
  • Provides a better environment for overseeing
  • Increases the effectiveness of applied fertilizers and control products.
  • Incorporates organic matter into the soil.
  • Increases tolerance to heat and cold.
  • All this adds up to a healthier lawn.

Lawn Renovation: replaces deteriorated turf with new, improved, better-adapted grasses. By seeding improved varieties into the existing lawn, the stand is improved, without the inconvenience and greater cost of re-establishing a new lawn.

Flea & Tick control for lawns: Let help reduce the amount of these unwanted pests in your lawn now!

Grub Control: The term "grub" applies to the larvae stage of literally hundreds of different insects. They lie in-ground or inside a part of the plant.

Grub Proofing - one application lasts the entire season

Grub Quick Kill - for problem lawns

Types: Grubs are legless or nearly so, usually at a length ranging from ¼ to ¾ of an inch. They are fat, worm like and are often curled with a yellow or brown head. Although there are many different types, beetle grubs are perhaps the most notorious. The large scarab beetle family, which includes the Japanese beetle, June beetle and Rose chafer, are among the most destructive.

Damage : Grubs eat the roots of grasses, preventing the plant's growth. As adults, they move above ground and feed on the leaves of the same plant; and sometimes its fruit or flower. Kentucky and annual bluegrasses, tall and fine fescues, or bent grasses are popular victims. Spongy yellow-brown patches will appear, especially in areas lighted at night. Late summer to early fall is prime time for grub movement. Damaged turf can easily be lifted from the ground.

Control : There are different levels of control depending on the severity of infestation. Raking loose turf to expose grubs as prey for birds is a simple step. Apply nematodes, a natural predator, to control the grubs. Also, the application of milky disease spores is an effective form of long-term control. For serious infestations, the use of rotenone or diazanon is suggested.

General observations : Early treatment with insecticide, in the grub's early stages of growth, is the most effective means of control. In general, a healthy, often lightly watered lawn helps reduce the stress put on your lawn from the insects.

Sod/Seed: Seeding and Sod installation for the perfect lawn!

Slice Seeding: Uses a machine that slices into the ground then drops the seed. Used to renovate a lawn or to thicken existing lawns.

De-Thatching: Thatch is the matted layer of dead and decaying grass stems and roots. Grass clippings, which are 80% water and decompose quickly, do not contribute to thatch. A small amount of thatch is beneficial for lawns because it provides shade for roots and retains moisture. Larger quantities, however, need to be removed before problems occur.
